Cetacean Ecology Research Group
CERG—short for the Cetacean Ecology Research Group—is a research collective based at Massey University's Auckland, New Zealand, campus. Its mission is to explore all facets of cetacean (whales and dolphins) biology, ecology, behavior, and conservation. The group places strong emphasis on understanding and mitigating human impacts such as tourism, pollution, fisheries interactions, and emerging threats. They collect and maintain a tissue sample archive of these dolphins and whales that spans 40 years.
